My first traffic ticket.

Having been confident of my driving with everybody's praise for 10 years, yesterday the bald headed Police officer had to stop me for exceeding the speed limit with a 5 mph exceeding the limit. Hmm....the bald head looked like he'd give me a warning but since the fund collections are going on,and to remind me to slow down and be safe, there I had the ticket for the first time. Not bad, only one in 10 years, huh?Anyone to bang the baldy's head with a hammer? Naah...he stands for traffic duty anyways in the scorching heat of the summer, with his head fried up!!!Enough for him!!

Sreeram wins Indian Idol 5

Well deserved Sreeram from Hyderabad has won the Indian Idol 5 title and this time justice has been made to a South Indian to win this contest. The 24-year-old singer beat Rakesh Maini from Agra and Bhoomi Trivedi of Baroda to win 50 lakh in prize money, a one year contract with Sony BMG, a Tata Winger car, and a chance to sing a song in a Yash Raj Films' project.Understandably, Sreeram was on cloud nine. "It hasn't even begun to sink in that I have really won. My parents are here with me. It seems like I'm in a dream. This victory means the world to me," he says.

He has indeed made his parents proud at such a young age and has been an achiever so far. Congrats Sreeram!!!

BP's oil spill---justified??

The major oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico has resulted in loss of lives, both human and aquatic and is a severe blow to the environment. The 200 billion dollar compensation would'nt bring things back to normal, would it? And of course what about the pelicans soaked in oil and what about those countless sea creatures which are dead,do they come back to life?
A serious call for stopping offshore oil drilling!! No prices are reduced or we see a ray of hope.
Or is the top notch politics into play here? A suitable plot for an upcoming movie though.
Save the environment,save lives...........?

Satisfaction is in the small little things of life.

After 3 months of joining work,it's been a while since I updated my blog. Due to some friend's demands,I pursue the journey of writing again.
This time a small list of things which gives us satisfaction. Here it goes,
Satisfaction is……….
When you are able to learn at work(after the interview, job offer and hiring)
When you are confidently getting used to the routine
When you get your first pay check
When you know you too are useful.
When you see that you have lost some weight
When you juggle and balance both work and family life
When you attend meetings and share your point of view
When your parents are happy that they can count on you
When life gives you what you wanted from a long time
When people congratulate you and you breathe achievement.
When you thank God for everything
When you plan what to do with your checks
When you no longer have to do a frustrating job-search
When you get dressed for work, commute and arrive
When you know the value of rest and weekends
When you know you’ve been there and done that
When you follow your passions and hobbies
When you are supported by family and friends.
When you complete 3 months at the new workplace.

Sirf....the grass is not greener on the other side.

Over the weekend,we caught up on a Hindi movie called Sirf.A good one with a strong message-the grss is never greener on the other side of the fence,to make it greener wherever you are and set your priorities right before it's too late.Yeh,an eye opener for many to be happy at present.
As I embark on a work life journey,to see what it is like,to get satisfaction on being there and done that and being useful for many,I do have my priorities right and plan to be happy what ever comes my way.God ,give me the strength to go on this journey of learning, wisdom and happiness. So,never compare your life to others coz' you dont' know what they're going thro'.

Did get see the Kannada movie,' Maleyali Jotheyali',a Ganesh starrer.Awesome locales in Sakleshpur,Mysore and Kerala, superb capturing of the breath taking beauty of nature.Preetham Gubbi has done a wonderful job.Ganesh emotes well and the heroines,Anjana Sukhani and Yuvika Chowdhury are good, their makeup is too good. The songs are melodious and the best part is the cinematography.Good for watching once. The rabbit is also the brand for Ganesh whose home production this time is okay. The costumes for the girls are wonderful.Good one Ganesh.

Looking forward for more like this in the future.

Lift Karade....a nice initiative.

Sony Entertainment Television has a global cause initiative,Lift Karade hosted by Karan Johar, where in the celebrities meet their Best Fans who earn a little money for the good cause. The celebrities multiply that money 4-5 times and give a huge amount to the underprivileged to get their health right, pay their operation costs, get good medical treatment, etc. Good going celebrities, with the power and status hat you have, the good cause that you're giving charity to,is indeed appreciated!!!

I guess I caught up on some episodes of Shahrukh,Katrina Kaif,Deepika Padukone,Priyanka Chopra. The gorgeous looking stars have a kind heart too,way to go.....good Job guys!!!

3 Idiots.

I did watch 3 Idiots yesterday.Superb movie,a lot of messages.--to change the teaching, grading and education system, for parents not to pressurise kids,to give your passion importance and make it your profession,to follow your dream /passion and success will follow you,to help,to be realistic,to be simple,to live in the present and not to worry about the future(all izz well),a serious message to engineering colleges who dont' provide practical knowledge,it was all mugging,by-hearting for us,true, but I hope we can change that for out future generations.

Here in the US,it's really good,no book knowledges, only practical knowledges of the real world,no text books here. That's the reason higher education is the best here and also at pre-k levels too, with real world exposure and the main reason for many to get brain drained to this place.

Hmm...wonder why I did Engineering too...I'm seriously thinking of Journalism,Photography, writing which are my passion or else event management and some people skills career. That may be my true calling.

I did relate to the movie in many ways--nostalgic memories when we used to pray so much for our results the same way it was portrayed in the movie.

Finally, all is well indeed. And success is what you define for yourself and not by others.

So,let's not be chaturs and follow our passions,--to learn, gain knowledge and power and of course not regret for the missed opportunity.Even IIMB,Bangalore looks good in the movie.

The movie was hilarious and kept us laughing our sides off.Hats off to Aamir and the team.

Would love to read Chethan Bhagath and write like him one day.

A must see recommendation from me.

Let's denounce the rat-run-race ,dog-eat-dog,mindless rote learning mentality of the institution.

No wonder it has raked in 315 crore in the 3 weeks of it's release period.

Good one!!!All izz well!!

Wake Up Sid.

After a long time, the blog restarts, procrastinated to write this one and today got some time to pen down my opinions.Wake Up Sid is a wonderful movie,I could relate to.I love journalism ,photography and writing. So,did like this movie with a strong message to today's youth---to realize responsibilities, discover your talents and hidden inner potential.
The songs are good too, liked all of them.

The movie becomes a sort of template of how Gen Now navigate their lives, deal with their own rebellions, find meaning to their own meanings to independence and handle their own set of mistakes.Refreshing and heart-warming----Times of India.
